Tymo Nakao, MD
Tymo Nakao, MD is an expert in M&A, and Corporate Strategy. With experience at McKinsey & Company, Ártica Investimentos, and Treecorp Investimentos, Tymo has advised clients across healthcare, life sciences, and technology sectors, working on high-impact projects across Brazil, Japan, and Latin America.

Tymo has been actively involved in healthcare M&A, contributing to transactions exceeding US$500 million. His work spans buy-side and sell-side advisory, market due diligence, and post-merger integration, particularly in the private healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services industries. In Brazil and Latin America, he has worked with private equity firms and strategic investors, evaluating consolidation opportunities and commercial growth strategies. In Japan, he has advised on cross-border M&A and market entry strategies, helping investors navigate the region’s complex healthcare landscape.

Beyond his professional work, Tymo is exploring wine-related consulting, leveraging his knowledge of the wine industry. As a whisky enthusiast and photographer, he brings a creative and strategic approach to both his consulting projects and personal interests.

Tymo holds a Medical Doctor degree from Unicamp, one of Latin America's leading universities.

Masato’s background in finance is distinguished by his leadership roles at some of the world’s top financial institutions. As a Managing Director at Lazard Frères & Co., he specialized in M&A advisory, focusing on large-cap, complex, cross-border transactions. His expertise in post-merger integration and managing intricate deal structures made him a key player in advising multinational corporations on major strategic moves.

At The Carlyle Group, where he served as Partner/Managing Director, Masato played a pivotal role in the origination, execution, governance, and exit of private and public company investments, primarily acting as a controlling investor. His work focused on driving growth and value creation in diverse sectors, with an emphasis on private equity investments in high-potential companies.

He was also a Special Advisor at Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing, where he provided strategic guidance on investment opportunities in the technology space. From 2013 to 2018, he represented Silver Lake in Japan, advising on technology investments and helping to guide growth strategies for leading companies in the sector.
